Fourth grade artists will be exploring and creating art that reflects community + cultural traditions.

Projects + Inspiration> Learning different techniques for picture making. We are beginning by studying many kinds of
landscapes.

Projects + Inspiration> Learning new ways to express ideas and emotions. We are beginning by learning about
portraits and the ways faces show thoughts and feelings.

Projects + Inspiration> Learning to mix art skills with personal expression. We will make portraits, landscapes and still
life images with a mix of artist inspiration and our own special personal touches.

Fifth grade artists will be applying their formal & conceptual vocabularies of art to view the world in new ways
through art-making. Projects + Inspiration> We will practice using excellent craftsmanship, and out of this world
creativity to develop dynamic works of art. Students will be challenged to imagine + create with artists eyes.
*Overview items and projects are subject to change.

Each K-5 artist will gain experience with drawing, painting, printmaking, modeling compounds & fibers. They will use art media to
explore qualities of line, shape, color, value, texture & space within works of art. Creativity is encouraged, and each childs best
effort + behavior is expected in the engaging and challenging environment of Art Class. Each child makes a difference, and has the
power to make a positive impact our learning environment. I look forward to growing together throughout the year!
