5. Socrates is a well-known philosopher, and is even regarded as the father

of Western Philosophy. He was a catalyst for significant advancement in
human consciousness, an archetypal thinker, he was committed to making
our actions reflect our convictions, believed that philosophical inquiry was a
social activity and was a heroic martyr to enlightened thinking and virtuous
living. These 5 main points together contributed to Socrates legacy, the
reason why he is such a huge name in the Philosophical world today. His
ideas were, and still are very important because they shaped the ground for
which Philosophy with founded. Without Socrates, the Philosophical world we
know today would be very different. I feel his ideas are in fact very important,
because without them, who knows what the world of Philosophy would
consist of.
