TUTOR GROUP REPORT

STUDENT NAME: DANTE HENDER

SEMESTER 1, 2014
TUTOR: JOHN ROWE

YEAR 11

STUDENT REFLECTIVE COMMENT

I feel that I have worked better this semester compared to last year. I have pulled my grades up from C's and D's
to B's, C's and sometimes A's. I definitely still need to work on my Maths grades, which I believe I can do through
much more practice. The transition into SACE work has definitely made me work harder on my work and try to put
my best possible effort into my work. My time management for my work has also improved. So, instead of leaving
my work until the very last minute, I am spacing out my work so that I have the time to do all of my work to the
best of my effort.
TUTOR COMMENT
Dante, so far this year you have been gradually improving the quality of your work across most subjects. Your
disposition towards Tutor Group activities, however, such as the 6 Week Challenge, has been quite disappointing.
As a Year 11 student, you are a role model for Year 10s whether you want to be or not. You need to take this into
account and be a positive example by taking an active role as a leader in the Tutor Group program. Additionally,
this TG time is valuable revision and tutoring time that can be utilised for extra support for Maths. I suggest that
you take advantage of this as currently Maths tests seem to have been your weak point this Semester. Its not all
criticism though, Dante, you do participate in every game that we play in Tutor Group, and without you, it just
wouldnt be the same! Keep working hard and start now to set the tone for Year 12 next year!

SACE REQUIREMENTS
To earn the SACE, students complete the equivalent of two years of full-time study.
There are two stages to the SACE:
Stage 1, which most students undertake in Year 11.
Stage 2, which most students undertake in Year 12.
In year 10, students may have the option of completing some SACE credits if they negotiate, with relevant staff, to be assessed at SACE level.
Each subject or course successfully completed earns credits towards the SACE. At least 200 credits are required for students to gain the certificate. Ten credits
equal one semester, or two terms, of study in a subject, and 20 credits equal a full-year subject.
Students will receive a grade from A to E (A+ to E- at Stage 2) for each subject. For compulsory subjects, they will need to achieve a C grade or better.
The compulsory subjects are:
Personal Learning Plan (10 credits at Stage 1)
Literacy at least 20 credits from a range of English subjects or courses (Stage 1)
Numeracy at least 10 credits from a range of mathematics subjects or courses (Stage 1)
Research Project an in-depth major project (10 credits at Stage 2)
Other Stage 2 subjects totalling at least 60 credits.
The remaining 90 credits can be gained through additional Stage 1 or Stage 2 subjects or Board-recognised courses of a students choice.
