Participation as a Neighborhood Organization in the City of Clearwater / Urban Land Institute

Community Forum Meetings

Dear Mayor, Vice-Mayor, and Councilmembers:

The neighborhood representatives of the Clearwater Neighborhoods Coalition (CNC) voted to include the
ULI Study Implementation as one of its highest priorities for 2015. Our organization considers this
process to be an essential element towards creating a better downtown while creating a sense of
hometown ownership within our community.
I am requesting that the CNC be granted a seat on the hosting committee alongside with the Clearwater
Redevelopment Agency, Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Development
Board, and the Clearwater Downtown Partnership.
The success of the ULI implementation depends on active participation by Clearwater residents
throughout the planning and implementation process. The ULI report labeled residents as the most
important stakeholders. The CNC offers its assistance and support by participating on the hosting
committee as a liaison and ambassador of the Clearwater neighborhoods. We feel that this will help speed
and smooth the process of bringing the input and perspective of residents to these meetings.
