1. What are attitudes

Attitudes are evaluative statements-either


favorable or unfavorable about objects,
people or events. They reflect how I feel about
something.
I like my work, is an example of statement
of attitude towards something.

2. What are the Main Components of


Attitude?
Researchers have assumed that there are
three components to attitude.
They are cognition, affect and behavior. Let us
look at the example:
1. My pay is low. It is a cognitive component
of an attitude.
2. I am angry that my pay is low. It is an
affective component of an attitude.
3. I am going to look for another job that pays
better. It is a behavioral component of an
attitude.

Cognitive component is a description of or


belief in the way things are. It is a stage for a
more critical part of the attitude.
Affective component is the emotional or
feeling segment of an attitude. Finally affect
can lead to behavior.
Behavioral
component
of
an
attitude
describes an intention to behave in a certain
way towards someone or something.

Job involvement
Organizational Commitment
Perceived Organizational Support
Employee Engagement
