Leadership Vision

Prompt: What is your leadership vision? (Draw connections to your

school's vision, as well as the vision you articulated for your school's plan
of professional development.)
As you begin this semester, in what ways do you see your root beliefs and
leadership vision impacting your school's culture and the structures within
it?
Technology vision: Teachers seamlessly integrate technology across the
curriculum maximizing student engagement and differentiated instruction and use
technology to readily access data in order to drive instruction effectively.
Notre Dame Schools vision: to create a positive learning environment in which
students develop strong personal faith and identity. Living the Gospel message
inspires an appreciation for diversity in the world, compassion for those in need,
and service to the community. Respect and recognition of the unique personalities,
learning styles, and backgrounds of our students, allows them to achieve success.
Students are encouraged to set and evaluate goals tapping into their individual
gifts and talents.
Leadership vision: At Notre Dame School, students are welcomed from a variety
of socio-economical, cultural and religious backgrounds. Students are exposed to a
variety of technological learning tools, particularly those that emphasize effective
use of the internet for research purposes, software that allows for optimal student
engagement, and programs that promote critical thinking and digital literacy.
Teachers are provided with ongoing professional development that prepares them
with the knowledge and tools necessary to integrate technology into their own
curriculum based on maximizing student engagement, appealing to multiple
learning styles and the optimal performance of their students, academically,
spiritually, socially and emotionally. Students and teachers are equipped with the
tools necessary for success in a modern, changing world.
As I begin the new school year, I do so with the utmost empathy, warmth and
understanding. Out of ten teachers at NDS, seven are new to our school, and 1 has
been asked to switch his grade-level expertise from third grade to middle school
math and science. Keeping this in mind, I will rely on my root beliefs and
leadership skills in order to acclimate and support our new faculty as they
transition into a new school-wide culture unique to NDS and the surrounding
community that it serves. As a leader in the integration of technology across our
curriculum at NDS, I have emphasized the development of positive relationships
among our students, staff members and administrators. This has paved the way for

the building of trust, exchange of ideas and mutual respect for one another as
professionals, teachers and learners that are open to change, technologically and
curricularly. Educating and supporting our new teachers regarding the effective
use of technology in the classroom has impacted our schools culture in a variety
of productive ways. First and foremost, there is an underlying realization and
acceptance for a perpetual evolution that resonates both in the immediacy and
throughout our future at NDS.
