ItwasplannedasahistorymuseumforthestateofBihar,[3]andbeganconstructioninBaileyRoad,
Patna,Bihar,India,inOctober2013withanestimatedbudgetof498crore.[4]TheMuseumwas
plannedtobringtheregion'sthousandsyearhistoryintofocus,inspiringlocalresidentsandvisitors
fromacrosstheglobetoexploreBiharsrichheritage,historicsitesandculturalattractions.[5][6][7]

themconsultantfortheproject.InJanuary2012,thestatecabinetapprovedtheselectionofJapanbasedMaki&AssociatesanditsIndianpartner
OPOLIS,Mumbaiastheprimaryconsultantarchitectfortheproject.[6][10]
