-A research-based integrated beginning reading-writingspelling program that uniquely transforms abstract symbols
into meaningful letters. The letters in our English alphabet
are totally abstract. Each letter has been arbitrarily given a
name, a sound, and a shape. Learning this information
requires rote memorization.
-Learning pictures to go with letter names and sounds.
-Picture names in your folder.
-More info at http://www.sunformalphabet.com/Index.html

cat catching

The letter is turned into a

picture of an object.
The name of the object
begins with the same sound of
that letter, stimulating recall
of the letter sound.
The letter shape contains a
visual image which
stimulates motor movements
for writing.
Picture is taught first, then
the sound, and finally the
letter name.
