TENURE CONTROVERSY STRIKES OHIO UNIVERSITY

On January 21, 2009, the E.W. Scripps School

of Journalism’s promotion and tenure committee
convened and voted 7-5 in favor of recommending
Professor Bill Reader for tenure. The Peer Review
Committee met and found that Professor Reader
exceeded expectations in all areas for tenure
consideration.The Scripps College of Communi-
cation’s promotion and tenure committee recom-
mended against granting Professor Reader tenure
