Features of the Software (check all that apply):
Assessment Monitoring/Reporting (Keeps track of student data and/or generates reports for the
teacher) X Allows teacher to create customized lessons for students
Multi-user or collaborative
functions with others in class
Multi-user or collaborative functions with others beyond local class X
Accessible to students beyond the school day X Accessible via mobile devices X Multiple languages
Safety, security, and/or privacy features
Strengths of the Software: This software brings the creative side of teachers as well as students when
creating the flashcards for further instruction and use in the classroom. The accessibility gives the
students a chance to use this program away from the classroom to practice what they are working on in
the classroom. As well as equipping multiple languages for ESOL students and a recording and image
aspect for the auditory and visual learners.
Suggestions for Improvement: The software is limited due to not being purchased so the features are not
as extensive as those that have the program. A good feature to add is color-coding the flash cards, so
different groups of children can work on different aspects of the lesson, (for example, the purple group
can work on simple addition, while the orange group works on simple subtraction). The biggest
improvement to me is the fact teachers need feedback and assessments of how the students have done
individually as well as a whole group.
Standards Addressed: See https://www.georgiastandards.org/Pages/Default.aspx

Description of how to implement in the class: The class will be introduced to the study of Georgias
topography using a video on the land features of GA. As students watch the video, they are asked to
remember a specific feature, which they can share to the class once the video is done. Once the video is
finished, the students will provide specific topography of GA and the words will be added to a chart. The
teacher will lead a discussion to help students identify the topography of GA. For those students still
confused on GAs topography a map will be provided showing where it is located, and the students will
make cards based on the location of that particular land feature. The cards can be used individually,
small group, or as a whole class activity to review the locations of the topography in GA.
In order to support the students as they progress through the study of GAs topography, the topography
and their location will be added to Quizlet in order to create study cards to address the various
topography locations in GA. The study cards will be available during class time and also via the classroom
blog where students can easily access the cards when they are away from school. Please feel free to use
the URL listed above to review the Quizlet cards addressing the topography of GA including their location
that support the study on GAs topography.
* Examples of common instructional models include whole group, teacher-led, student self-paced,
small group, or individual learning activities. Use as many of these descriptors or other descriptors
as apply.
