At the beginning of this assignment I had no idea what ideology I felt most comfortable with. I knew what my philosophy revolved around but I hadnt classified it. This made all of the lessons very engaging for me although some were a little more entertaining than others. One that really sticks out in my mind was the Social Efficiency ideology explaining citizenship. This group decided to take their ideology to the extreme and not only did they make their lesson entertaining and engaging they also did a very good job explaining the main concepts of Social Efficiency. The earlier activity that we did in class where we rated the four responses to a situation then tallied our results and found which ideology we fit most in showed that I fit most with Social Efficiency. I wasnt totally convinced of this but it definitely drew me to really engage myself in with these lessons. I saw the importance of preparing students to enter the work force and know the skills needed to improve our society and strengthen the world around them. The way this group showed the class the extreme view though showed the downfalls of their ideology as well. It didnt fully allow creativity for each student even though each activity was engaging and easy to follow but if you didnt pass you became a burden upon the society. I have learned throughout my education that each and

every person has something valuable to offer. After all the
presentations I feel like I identified most with the Social Efficiency ideology but I saw the need to incorporate the benefits of each of the other ideologies. I cannot say that each view of knowledge is the best. The Learner Centered ideology shows how I feel that each student learns differently. Some students will learn factual knowledge like a Scholar Academic or skills like a Social Efficiency believer. Learner Centered ideology allows room for creativity and in this day and age I feel like allowing creativity and learning in different ways will better society in the long run. Gone are the days of the simple track of getting your desired occupation and we, as educators need to prepare our students for that future. I feel like learning is about your finding your passion and transforming that into a usable skill or form of knowledge and sharing it with the rest of society. Children have their whole life ahead of them to find this passion. As teachers I feel like we need to present them with knowledge and opportunities to discover their passions. The biggest take away that I got from these presentations and activities is that as a teacher I need to know what I feel is important but I need to always be adapting to the needs of the students. Overall I think each group did a very good job at explaining and presenting their ideologies in a clear and concise manner. Preparation is key to success so I must
