Technology is a key asset that can be used to enhance the communication between

parents, students, and community. The way we communicate with others and with ourselves
ultimately determines the quality of our lives.-Anthony Robbins This quote is a direct reference
that shows in order to have good quality of live communication needs to happen. Can there be a
true relationship without communication? Absolutely not how can someone have friends when
there is absolutely no communication. It will become dull and lifeless and will pass as quickly as
the wind blows about. If you try to have a relationship with a parent and a student and do not
provide the information needed to help each other succeed then it will be a poor relationship and
can lead to the student failing.
Teachers with the help of technology can have an effective relationship that will help the
parent, student, and teacher thrive. Getting the parent involved is something that each and every
student should strive for. The importance of parent involvement in schools and its relationship
to student achievement have been widely studied.(Omlstead, pg. 3, 2013) When the parents are
involved it can absolutely change the students life and lead them to be a lot more successful. In
order for the parent to help the children out and to challenge their child to do better at their
schooling there must be communication. Students who have parents who are actively involved
in their education have higher grades and test scores, enroll in higher-level programs, graduate
from high school, and go on to post-secondary education (Henderson & Mapp, 2002) This can
be done with a numerous different ways with the help of technology. The most used and often
most effect way is the email. Schools have websites that can be used for many different things
for the school to give out information to the students and parents. Information is often pushed at
the parents always but the parents never have the opportunity to respond to information or share
information. The teachers can communicate this way back and forth with the parents.

Technology is the key to enhancing the communication of a childs home learning. Many
students do not communicate well with their parents so the parents do not know what is going on
with the childs life. This is another reason it is so crucial that the teacher must communicate
with the parent. As a teacher, being able to challenge the students in order to help the students
and the parents be successful in the classroom. There are also many different games and
activities that the students get to use to challenge there mind and their growth in the classroom.
Being successful is what every teacher strives for their kids. The question that each teacher is
how do you make the students more successful? If technology is part of helping a student be
successful then it is vital to communicate with the parents and students. The most exciting part is
that is can be used to benefit learning in ways that we never thought imaginable. Technology has
revolutionized learning in so many different ways.
