History
The

earliest instances of software in


instruction drilled students using the
behaviourist method was popular
throughout the mid-twentieth century.

In

the 1970s as cognitivism gained traction


with educators, designers began to envision
learning technology that employed artificial
intelligence models that could adapt to
individual learners.

In evaluating computer-based educational materials,


the ff. can serve as guidelines:
Be

extremely cautious in using CBIs and free internet


material
Dont be caught up by attractive graphics, sounds,
animation, pictures and music .
Evaluate resources using sound pedagogical principles.
Clarity in the explanation and illustrations of concepts
and principle.
Accuracy, coherence, logic of information.
Relevance/effectiveness in attaining learning objectives.
Absence of biased materials.
