Outlines of Taper Blank with Solid :

New feature by customer request - taper blank with a solid.

This function is used to mesh the taper blank with a solid.


Added an option for new mesh type in blank generator.

Description of New Feature


Description:
New type added: Taper Solid Mesh under
the mesh type.
Allows the user to mesh the taper blank with
solid mesh.
After selecting Taper Solid mesh type, the
Outline page is unavailable.

Description:
After the user adds including surfaces part
into Parts list, the Taper Solid Mesh button
becomes available.
Allows the user to mesh the taper blank with
solid mesh.

Description of New Feature


Description:
Selecting Curved Surfaces allows the user to select
the curved surface of the blank.

Selecting Flat Surfaces allows the user to select a


flat surface, which is the plane for reference.

Parameter allows the user to define the solid mesh


parameters.
Element Size can be entered. The default mesh is
set at 32.
Layer: The number of layers can be entered for
solid mesh. The default mesh is set at 3.

Description of New Feature


Description:
After selecting the surfaces, the Apply button is
activated.
Click on Apply and the program will generate the
required solid mesh. If the generated mesh is not
satisfactory, the user can click on the Undo button
to regenerate it.

1. Start DF 5.9.2 to open the database file. See Figure 1.

2. User Setup->Blank Generator>Taper solid mesh. Select the top
surface and then select the bottom flat surface as the plane.

3. Use the default parameters and click on the Apply button. The result
is illustrated in Figure 3. A new part named SOLID000 is created for
the generated solid mesh.

slide. Sample 2 and the generated result are illustrated as follows.
