Introduction Video games are unique form of entertainment since it enables the players to become part of the game. Video games exists for 30 years and counting, with each year evolving to be more graphic-intensive, requires constant attention and deeper level of physical and emotional involvement than that of watching TV. It is acknowledged that video games may help children improve their manual dexterity and computer literacy but studies also show that video games with violent content are linked to more aggressive behavior in teens. This is a concern because most of the popular video games contain violence. Problem This study aims to determine if playing video have significant effect on an adolescents development based on the perception of the respondents. Purpose The researcher will conduct this study in order to determine the perceptions of the respondents (parents) on what they think are the effects of playing video games on an adolescents development. The researcher also aims to discover factors that can greatly add to make video games more beneficial based on the answers of the respondents. Methodology The researcher will make use of the descriptive method of research in order to determine the perception of the respondents about the effects of playing video games on adolescents. The respondents are delimited to the selected parents residing in J.M. Basa Extension St., Libid, Binangonan, Rizal. In conducting the study, the researcher will make use of questionnaire-checklist as an instrument in data gathering.
