E5 Stage Explain

Learning intention:
In this activity, students will compare 3 common ways of delivering
important messages/arguments/facts in the social media ((ACELA1561),
(ACELA1557), (ACELY1745)). The materials used in this particular activity will
focus on the theme of saving the endangered animals. This is aiming to
prompt their thinking process of how meaning is conveyed to the general
public using different techniques (visual, audio, statistical, etc), and
understand the importance of supporting the argument using reliable
sources ((ACELA1561), (ACELA1557), (ACELY1745)).
This activity is not assessed itself, but it forms a strong basis leading to
Part B of their major assessment, in which they will make a video to raise
public awareness of endangered animals and what can we do to save
them. In this activity, the students will develop 3 different mind maps to
summarize the key words, key message and some techniques used and
share their results with their working partner ((ACELA1561), (ACELA1557),
(ACELY1745), (ACSSU176), (ACSIS171), (ACSIS174)).
