PROBLEM STATEMENT (for previous and current lesson):
Many parents struggle to help their students study at home. Your group will develop a list of
engaging resources students and parents can use at home to reinforce what we learn at school.

LESSON DESCRIPTION
Students have developed analysis criteria as a group with the teacher. This will help guide them
through picking quality resources. Sample criteria are found in the rubric. In this lesson, students
will collaborate with their group members to create a Google Doc of links that will help students
study parts of speech outside of school. Students will use the research feature of Google Docs to
pull resources (images, links to videos, webpages, etc.) into the Doc directly, which properly
cites the resources they choose. They will also search the greater internet for resources that align
with the lesson objectives and the manner in which the information was presented in class. These
Docs will then be posted on the website and emailed home to parents. Students will also turn in a
analysis criteria sheet wherein they rate each resource they chose according to the criteria
decided on by the class, and make a quick comment explaining why this is an important, quality
resource for students and/or parents.
ASSESSMENT:
Student resource lists will be assessed according to accuracy in alignment to the standard,
accuracy in alignment to in-class learning, level of engagement the chosen resources provide,
and ease of accessibility.
Student analysis criteria sheets will be scored according to the rubric for logic and quality of
rationalization.
