The
next
topic
we
will
be
covering
in
class
is
evolution.
Instead
of
me
just
rattling
on
however,
Im
going
to
shake
things
up
a
bit
Quick
Response
codes
(commonly
called
QR
codes)
are
bar
codes
consisting
of
square
dots
arranged
in
a
square
grid
on
a
white
background.
They
can
be
read
by
the
camera
on
your
smartphone
or
tablet
and
often
are
used
to
link
websites.
If
you
have
a
suitable
device,
download
an
app
that
will
read
QR
codes
(any
will
do)
and
try
the
one
out
below
for
an
example
Now
for
the
learning
bit
1.
Get
into
groups
of
4-5
people
(at
least
one
of
you
in
the
group
must
have
a
smartphone
if
not,
speak
to
me).
2.
I
have
hidden
ten
QR
codes
in
the
classroom
and
it
is
your
task
to
find
them
all.
3.
The
whole
class
will
congregate
outside
the
classroom
and
one
person
from
each
group
is
to
enter
the
classroom
for
a
total
of
five
minutes.
In
that
five
minutes
they
need
to
find
as
many
QR
codes
as
they
can
and
scan
them
(using
the
groups
smartphone)
to
discover
which
website
they
link
to.
This
website
needs
to
be
recorded/saved
as
it
will
be
used
shortly.
4.
After
five
minutes
the
first
group
member
must
leave
the
classroom
and
another
group
member
can
enter
to
try
to
find
any
remaining
QR
codes.
5.
The
group
is
then
to
critically
analyse
each
of
the
websites
they
have
discovered
to
evaluate
which
are
credible
and
which
are
not.
6.
As
a
group,
you
are
to
use
the
information
from
the
credible
website(s)
to
design
a
presentation
for
class
Y
(the
other
Grade
10
Science
class).
As
they
will
cover
evolution
next
term,
it
is
your
responsibility
to
teach
them
the
most
important
aspects
of
evolution.
(They
are
currently
completing
a
similar
activity
and
will
be
designing
a
presentation
for
your
groups
about
the
origin
of
the
universe).
7.
The
remaining
two
or
three
group
members
who
did
not
look
for
the
QR
codes
will
be
responsible
for
delivering
the
presentation
to
their
peers
in
the
other
class.
