David,

Thank you yet again for the opportunity to be in a teaching circle for the use of
iPads. Diana has done a wonderful job of making the classes focused and objective
driven. It was a little challenging at first as we didnt have our iPads but everyone
was very supportive and helpful. We had assignments each week, to help just get
us used to the applications, and everyone e-mailed applications that they found
useful. It was great to have Tim Stacks come to 2 of the meetings. He is a great
resource and really showed us some interesting ways to use the iPads, including
educreations, google voice, keynote, QR readers, Zite magazine, yogil, and the
dropbox for the cloud. Diana had already showed us Todays meet and the citrix
receiver , which allows us to access our files on campus. We also received adapter
cables to connect out iPads to the class rooms which will be great.
It has also fun to see the ways other faculty member have used the iPad. Lisa had a
great way to use educreation, which inspired me to download it and hopefully use it
and I was able to show her the Prezi app. I was also able to locate an application
through iTunes U that had video presentations of different radiographic procedures. I
showed one on Zygomatic arches to my students and there is one on Pediatric
imaging that I will show in my next unit. I also created an instructional video to
show our new cohort coming in how to run the digital computer console.
Having new technology is always mind stretching, and having a chance to
brainstorm with others is a great catalyst to get us using it.
Respectfully,
Rebecca Lowell
