Choose one of the planets.
Use a Story Board worksheet to help you plan what you are going to say.
Practice reading your script until you can read it fluently and with excitement and good
expression.
5. Build a Voki at Voki.com by registering for an account. (You may need to ask an adult for
help)
6. Record your script as the Vokis voice.

Assessment:
Prepare a 1-2 minute script for a TV News interview.
You can receive up to 25 points each for the written script, story board, Voki, and your recorded
speech.
Raft Card 2 Third Grade Science
Objective: You will be able to differentiate the different ecosystems and be able to explain how
they work, why certain animals and plants grow there, and explain the ecosystems food chain.

Format: Game simulation and Journal article

Topic: You are a scientist who has created an ecosystem. You are explaining the parts of the
ecosystem and the food chain.
Directions:
1. Go to Strange Loop Games and create an ecosystem.
2. Write a Journal Article about your ecosystem. (how does it work, why do those animals
and plants live there, etc)
3. Use a Food Chain worksheet to draw your eco system
4. Present your eco system to the class

Assessment:
Create a functioning biosphere and write a Journal article about your observations. Make sure to
include a food chain illustration and present to the class.
Your presentation is worth 50% of the total points of the project. The ecosystem, and journal
article are 20 points each and the food chain is worth 10 points.
