PTDiamondColdStorage,whichwasestablishedin1960,isanembryooftheDiamondGroup.Thecompanywas
establishedin1960byPT.CocaColaCompany.PT.CocaColaCompanyisaproducerofsoftdrinkwiththebrandof,
CocaCola.ItislocalunitsofaUSsoftdrinkgiantCocaCola.
In1970,PTDiamondColdStorage(PT.DCS)wastakenoverbyMr.ChanWATek,anethnicChinesebusinessman
andformerownerofPT.DCS,afoodandbeveragemanufacturingcompany.
In1980ChanWATek'ssonMr.NormanChenandMrs.ChenTsenNanestablishedPT.SukandaDjaya(PT.SD).
Afteritsstatutewaschangedseveraltimes,currentlythepaidupcapitalofthecompanyisRp100million.
InthebeginningPT.SDisadivisionofPT.DCShandlingthestorageofproductsandasadistributoroftheproducts
ofPT.DCS.
CurrentlytheDiamondGrouphasthreesubsidiariesoperatinginfoodandbeveragemanufacturingindustry,cold
storageserviceandsupermarketbusiness.
Foodandbeverageindustry
PT.DiamondColdStorage(PT.DCS)operatesinfoodandbeverageindustryproducingicecreamwithaproduction
capacityof925tonsperyear.Itsfactoryoccupiesa6,000hectareplotoflandinCibitung,Bekasi,andWestJava.Its
icecreamproductisknownwiththebrandofDiamond.PTDCSalsoproducesdairyproduct,UHTmilkandyogurt
alsowiththebrandofDiamond.
Sinceitstartedoperationin1971,PT.DCShasproducedicecreamwithvarioustastesvanilla,strawberry,chocolate,
mango,durian,andvanillamixchocochipsinpackagesof1liter8liters.Italsoproducesicecreaminsmallpackage,

PizzaHutrestaurantchainhasrentedthecoldstorageofPT.SukandaJaya.PizzaHuthasfor25yearsusedcold
storageofPTSukanda,andnamedthecoldstoragecompanytodistributeallofitsproductstoallPizzaHut
restaurantsinJava.
Inaddition,PizzaHutcooperateswithPT.DiamondColdStorage(theparentcompanyofPT.SukandaJaya).PT.
DiamondColdStorageasaproduceroficecreamhasbeenasupplieroficecreamandmilkforallPizzaHutoutlets.
PT.DiamondColdStorageasaproduceroficecreamhascoldstoragewithacapacityof925tons.PT.DiamondCold
StoragealsoputspartofitsproductioninthecoldstoragesofitssubsidiaryPT.SukandaJaya,whichalsohandlesthe
distributionoftheproduction.Withacapacityofaround45,000tons,SukandaJayahandlesthestorageand
distributionoficecream.Itrentsoutitscoldstoragesforfoodproductsandhandlesthedistributionoftheproducts
mainlyprocessedfoodproductslikefrozenpotatoes.CurrentlythecustomersofSukandaJayaincludePizzaHut,
KentuckyFriedChicken,A&W(restaurants).
ColdStorage
PTSDisasubsidiaryofPT.DCS,whichisknownasoneofthelargestproducersoficecreaminIndonesia.Inthe
beginningPT.SDisdivisionofPT.DCSwithfunctionstoprovidestorageandhandlethedistributionoftheproductsof
PT.DCSsuchasicecream,milkandotherfrozenfoods.PT.SDstoressomeoftheicecreamproductionofPT.
DCS,asthewarehousesofDCSarenotenoughtoholdallofitsproduction.
In1986,PT.SDdevelopsbusinessindistributionoffrozenfoodproductsofcompaniesotherthanPT.DCS.Thecold
storagefacilitiesofPT.SDaretoobigfortheproductsofPT.DCSalone.Therefore,itofferstorentouttheidle
capacity.
PT.SDhasprovidedstorageoffrozenfoodsandbeveragesofanumberofcompaniesotherthanPTDCS.Currently
PT.SDhascustomersamonglargeretailcompaniesandfastfoodrestaurantchains.
