MS-IST Placement Test (IST-055)

Students coming into the MS-IST program must take a pre-test to determine their
level of preparedness for the MS-IST program. There are three exceptions to this
requirement:

The student has completed a Computer Science or Technology-related

undergraduate degree
The student has worked for at least two full years in a technology-related
field
The student voluntary chooses to take IST-5500 with no pre-test.

All other students must take the IST-055 Placement Test. Students who score
lower than a 70% on the test will be required to take IST-5500 in preparation for
the MS-IST program.
To enroll in this test, please follow these steps:

Log into Blackboard

Select Courses > College of Technology
Locate the IST-055 Placement Test (DEPT.IST055.DIS.2015)
Hover over the Course ID (DEPT.IST055.DIS.2015) and click on the downarrow that appears
5. Select Enroll.
6. Click Submit.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a timed test. You will have 30 minutes to complete it once
you begin.
After completing the test, you will need to confirm your status with an MS-IST
advisor. Please bring a print out of your test completion certificate and we will
assist you with updating your status. The completion certificate can be found in
the Achievements section.
IMPORTANT! You will not be able to register for courses until this registration
requirement is completed.
