PROJECT OVERVIEW
A local executive relocation company has hired you to help them make the transition to using
Excel in their office. They would like to list their properties in a workbook. Youve started a
worksheet for this project that contains labels but no data.
Instructions
1. Open the file IL_Excel2010_UA_IC1a_FirstLastName_1.xlsx and save the file as
IL_Excel2010_UA_IC1a_FirstLastName_2.xlsx before you move to the next step. Verify
that your name appears in cell B4 of the Documentation sheet. (Note: Do not edit the
Documentation sheet. If your name does not appear in cell B4, please download a new copy
of the start file from the SAM Web site.)
2. Switch to the Sheet1 worksheet by clicking the Sheet1 tab at the bottom of the workbook. In
row 2 enter the line beginning 1507 Pinon Lane (from Table 1) in columns A, C, D, and E
(the property address information should spill into column B).
3. In row 3 enter the line beginning 32 Zanzibar Way (from Table 1) in columns A, C, D and
E.
4. In row 4, enter the line beginning 60 Pottery Lane (from Table 1) in columns A, C, D and
E.
5. In row 5, enter the line beginning 902 Excelsior Drive (from Table 1) in columns A, C, D
and E.

6. Use Page Layout View to create a header with the title Property Listings in the center
section and New Listings in the right section.
7. Create formulas for totals in cells C6:E6, then compare your work to the sample in the Final
Figure below.
