Wetlands - 2015
Whole new worlds open up to them
when children see that wetlands are
teaming with life! From the macro
invertebrates to the microscopic
diatoms, almost 4,000 children from
43 area schools fell in love with a
world they didnt know existed.
The Pat & Gill Clements Wetlands
Instructor led programs throughout
the school year, during our Summer
Institute and Adventure Camp.
In addition, Kristine led a high
school program focused on the
environment and water conservation
and a 4th grade program
investigating the kingdom protista.
There were moments of
SILENCEwhen a green heron
alighted nearby or a red-winged
blackbirds was spied. There were
many more moments the children
came ALIVE with their discoveries.
Clearly, the natural learning
environment encourages children
to observe, absorb, respect and be
inspired by the world around them.
