l . P r o d u c tD e s c r i D t i o n
the Model F-2000 is a dual frequency navigation echo sounder desisaed to comply fully
with IMO Resolution MSC. ?4(69) Annex 4.
Built aroud an 8-inch daylisht-viewins, hish conhast @lor TFT LCD scren, the
equipment displays the boitom toposaphy usins a total of seven user-deffnable ease
on-the ye anslog strength-level colors representing various layers of the bottom
suatum. The display can be Bet to show the bottom contou slone in a single color via a
menu sdded plocedule.
Disital depth readout ie also available usins easy to read larse fonts with a clear
on screen indicatioo of rbe refFrenceof measu"ehelt (from lbe warertine, trdsducer
or keeD, and in meters, fathoms or feet. To omply with the IMO resolution, the depth
must be indicated in meters lor navisational puposes.
With appropfiate optionsl sensors plugged in, the ship's I,AT/LON coordiraies, speed,
headins and water temperature will also be displayed at tle same time.
A battery.-backed realtine calendar clock is built in to indicate the date and time in
UTC or in the desircd local tine. With an appmpdate GPS sensor plugged in, the time
is automaticaly Fefercnced to the atomic precision GPS time.
Up to 24 hous of sounding data will be stored in non-volatile memory at apFoximately
twrsecond iDtervals, together with associated date and time, mnge md frequency in
use plus position dd water tenperature, and can be played back easily with a devoied
key. The user can revie* the stored data acrcss any 1s-minute segment at any point in
time ove! ihe past 24 hous though a specially desisned windo$,. The data can be
format via rear panel
output on demdd in NMEA-{183 (IEC 61162-1)-{onpatible
comectors for use in shore-based applications. and is protected against a 6yetm reset.
An easy-to-use menu system is ircorpomtd to set the hansducer draft, depth
rcference, echo threshold level, echo display mode, etc. in addition to operatins
paranetem to be selected maiily at installation tine. Umutholized acc6sto the menu
system can be prevented with password enby, if desired.
Equipped with a poweful I kW RMsdual frequency bansceiver, the F-2000 opemtes oD
two difiercnt channels (chamel A md chamel B) sepuately. the channel can be easily
switched with a devoted &ont panel ken A 200W low-power dual frequency tlansceiver
is optionaly available lor operatiotr using ELAC 50 and 200 kHz transducers. and STN
ATI-{S SW 6016 100 kHz transduceftThe output power level is adjustable, autonaticaly to suit the range in use, or manuatly
where more power is needed in shalow water soudinss over a sofi, muddy bottom.
Bot}l the rceiver sair and TVG (anti<lutter)
levets de autonaticaly controlled for
hands-free operatioD. Manual overide of both functions is atso possible for each
operating channel.
If it is des ed to display echosram for a lonser pe od of time, lower feed rates (plot
speeds) can be chosen without affecting the souding nte specified for the depth mnge
in use, tlereby allowirs the clrent
information upilating rate ta be maintained
resardless of the feed speed in use.
