Robotics Engineer:

Education- recommends that engineers earn a bachelor's degree at minimum, but

those aiming to excel in their careers would be wise to follow up with a two-year
master's degree program in their chosen field. Even a Ph d will do.
What they do: Robotics engineers may work in the agricultural, military, medical,
and manufacturing industries, among others, conceiving of new uses for robots,
designing improved robots for existing systems, or repairing and maintaining
industrial robots
Salary- salary earned engineers in 2012 was 92.030 a year.
Where do they train- they can train in many different school such as Alabama

Astronaut:
Education- Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in engineering,
biological science, physical science, or mathematics. Quality of academic
preparation is important. Degree must be followed by at least 3 years of related,
progressively responsible, professional experience or at least 1,000 pilot-incommand time in jet aircraft. An advanced degree is desirable and may be
substituted for experience as follows: masters degree = 1 year of experience,
doctoral degree = 3 years of experience. Teaching experience, including experience
at the K - 12 levels, is considered to be qualifying experience for the Astronaut
Candidate position; therefore, educators are encouraged to apply.
What do they do- An astronaut (or cosmonaut) is a person trained by a human
spaceflight program to command, pilot, or serve as a crew member of a spacecraft.
Average salary- 64,724 a year starting off to 141,715
Where do they train- NASA

Software Engineer:
What do they do- A Software engineer is a person who applies the principles of
software engineering to the design, development, maintenance, testing, and
evaluation of the software and systems that make computers or anything containing
software work.
Education- bachelor degree in computer science, software engineer or a related
field
Salary- 78,084
Where do they train- three year advanced Ontario diploma program

Audio Engineer:
What do they do- An audio engineer is concerned with the recording, manipulation,
mixing and reproduction of sound. Many audio engineers creatively use
technologies to produce sound for film, radio, television, music, electronic products
and computer games.
Education- To become an audio engineer one can attend a vocational program that
usually lasts up to a year. Programs will train students to use the equipment they
will eventually have to use at work. Some employers prefer an associate degree.
Salary- In 2012, people working in this field earned a median annual salary of
$46,310 and median hourly wages of $22.27 (US)
Where do they train- many different schools around the world

Traffic Technician:
What do they do- Traffic technicians, also known as traffic technologists, are skilled
workers who specialize in the technical aspects of controlling and studying vehicle
traffic.
Education required- A few different types of degree programs can prepare students
for a career as a traffic technician, including those in civil technology or
engineering-related fields. Students who earn a bachelor's degree instead of an
associate's degree may be able to obtain higher-level technician positions without
gaining additional experience. Take courses in mathematics or computer science
Salary- 43,430
Where do they train- northern Arizona university.

Biofuel Manufacturing Research Engineer:

What do they do: A biofuel manufacturing research engineer designs and devises
tools, procedures, and processes that will generate biofuel more efficiently for the
purpose of generating electricity, heating homes, and powering vehicles. Engineers
are typically employed by research labs, universities, government agencies, and
private energy companies.
Education- The majority of of biofuel manufacturing research engineers have a
bachelors degree in either chemical, mechanical, materials, engineering or science.

Earning a masters of science (MSc) in Biofuels Process Engineering will equip

engineers with the highest standard and an advanced understanding and practical
experience of employing biofuel research and advanced process technology within
the industry.
Salary- 74,630
Where do they train- in many different schools over the us

Naval Architect:
What do they do- A Naval Architect is a professional engineer who is responsible for
the design, construction and repair of ships, boats, other marine vessels and
offshore structures, both civil and military
Education- bachelors degree
Salary- 94,040
Training- mun university fisheries and marine institute

Biochemical Engineer:
What do they do- Biochemical engineering/ biotechnology engineering/bioprocess
engineering is a branch of chemical engineering that mainly deals with the design
and construction of unit processes that involve biological organisms or molecules,
such as bioreactors.
Salary- 94,310
Education- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering for entry-level; master's or
doctoral degree for advanced positions
Where do they train- north central university

Flight Engineer:
What do they do- Flight engineers have an extensive list of roles both on and off the
ground. Before takeoff begins, they must inspect the aircraft and ensure that it is

safe for use. They often have a pre-flight checklist that has to be completed before
a plane is cleared to fly. These include checks for any fluid leaks or improperly
inflated tires.
Salary- Flight Engineers earn an average salary of $129,600 per year. These
numbers may vary depending on several factors, like level of education, amount of
experience, industry, company size and location.
Education- Flight engineers are pilots who maintain flight systems; they perform
tests to ensure that flight systems work correctly while also making necessary
repairs. Flight engineering courses usually culminate in a bachelor's degree in
aerospace or flight engineering, but master's and doctoral degrees are also
available. According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the minimum age
to take flight engineering courses is 19 years.
Where do they train- Working with an aircraft can be learned either in private,
civilian flying schools or in the military. Most people choose the private flight school
route. Flight engineers must be trained as pilots. The minimum licensing
requirement for airline pilots is a commercial pilot's license with night endorsement,
instrument flight rating, and a radio telephone (restricted) license. One can get
these after many, many hours in the air, training with a recognized instructor. There
are training programs offered by flying clubs and schools throughout the US. The
cost varies from one organization to another, so it is important to check around.
Once that level has been achieved, the flight engineer must get some training in
aircraft engine

Nuclear Engineer:
A nuclear engineer will typically do the following:

Design or develop nuclear equipment, such as reactor cores, radiation shielding, or

associated instrumentation
Monitor nuclear facility operations to identify any design, construction, or operation
practices that violate safety regulations and laws
Examine nuclear accidents and gather data that can be used to design preventive
measures
Write operational instructions to be used in nuclear plant operation or in handling
and disposing of nuclear waste
Direct operating or maintenance activities of operational nuclear power plants to
ensure that they meet safety standards
Perform experiments to test whether methods of using nuclear material, reclaiming
nuclear fuel, or disposing of nuclear waste are acceptable
Take corrective actions or order plant shutdowns in emergencies

Nuclear engineers are also on the forefront of developing uses of nuclear material
for medical imaging devices, such as positron emission tomography (PET) scanners.
They also may develop or design cyclotrons that produce a high-energy beam that
the healthcare industry uses to treat cancerous tumors.
Salary- $104,270
Education- Lancasters Nuclear Engineering degree programme is accredited by
both the Institution of Engineering Technology and the Institution of Mechanical
Engineers. Our three-year course aims to equip you with a sound foundation in the
essentials of engineering science, together with a deeper capability in Nuclear
Engineering. Through study of this programme you will be well prepared to become
competent scientists or technologists working within subjects allied to engineering.
