Saturday, April 9, 2016 | Bethel University | St. Paul, Minnesota Established in 2014 by history professors from Bethany Lutheran College, Bethel University, and the University of Northwestern-St. Paul, the Minnesota Undergraduate History Symposium fosters opportunities for college students in the Upper Midwest to Share their research in the field of history Dialogue concerning the significance of the Christian faith in the historians vocation Network for graduate school and career opportunities The symposium features undergraduate presenters introduced by faculty moderators, plus a panel of faculty members discussing broader issues related to historiography, faith and learning, career development, and other themes of interest to History majors. Undergraduate presentations may be adapted from Senior theses, upper-division term papers, or similar research projects. The symposium welcomes a broad spectrum of time periods, places, and fields (e.g., social history, military history, cultural history). Projects in digital history/digital humanities (undergraduate or faculty/student collaboration). Reflections on student internships, student-teaching placements, and other experiences connecting historical study to the workplace. Students of any major are welcome to participate, so long as their work conforms to the historical discipline. A formal call for papers will go out in January 2016, with applications due by March 11, 2016.
