Task
Its now time to create your own version of a Unity game
You are required to choose ONE of the games developed so far this term and extend it to create a new improved game. The
new and improved game should boast additional features and capabilities and improve upon the design of the original.
For example, Space Shooter 2.0 might extend the original game by including space ships that are randomly generated that
shoot at your space ship.
Or
Design and develop your own simple game.
This design component of this assignment must be handed in (for checking) on Monday August 31. Your suggested
modifications may possibly need to be rewritten as your project develops.

The project should be completed using the following

Design
Original Program Description
The game in which I plan to modify is Roll a Ball. Roll a Ball is a simple third person game made in Unity. The objective of the
game is to collect all of the pickup objects, once all of them are collected, a text message appears indicating the player has won
the game. It is the first game that we made, as it was at a beginners difficulty. The ball can be any colour desired, but in this
case it was white, the terrain was blue, the collectables were yellow and the walls were white. Each time a collectable is
collected, a UI text message appears on the top right corner that counts the number of collectables have been picked up and
increases as they are collected, the game ends when all the collectables have been collected.
Modification Description
I have modified Roll a Ball to create a maze game called The Maze. The whole point of my game The Maze is too collect all the
objects while exploring the maze to locate the objects itself. I have modified Roll a Ball and made a harder and longer version
that is more enjoyable. I started from scratch and added in many walls with certain height, width and length, I have doubled the
size of my player, changed the colour of objects and edited the code to say different things when the game has ended, for
example Game Over, You Win!. The texture of the walls are made to look like hedges, and the ground is made to look like
concrete, almost like youre navigating through someones backyard. The main camera has been edited a 90 degree X rotation
on the transform to give the player a plane view of the maze. Therefore, The Maze is a more interesting and fun game than its
mentor Roll a Ball.

Develop and Testing

Open file The Maze.exe to run the game

Documentation for this section should include the following:-

Evaluation
The game I have created is called The Maze, and by the title you can already tell that its a maze game. My game is fun and is
challenging as it will challenge the players patience and knowledge of the environment so they can effectively direct
themselves around the maze and collect all 25 objectives, the game ends once all the objects are collected. The ball rolls using
gravity so there is a slight lag when the keys are pressed, making navigation more difficult and a test of patience. All the walls
are solid objects that are meant to look like hedges and the ground made to look like concrete. The physics and player
movement coding is used mainly from Roll a Ball. The game is easy to use with the arrow keys or the WASD controls. There
are also areas in which the game can be improved, but I did not have the time and knowledge necessary to do so. I could have
added a song in the background that would loop on awake, but as it is a patience game, I did not want the player to be enraged
with the background music. I could have added a time limit making the game harder to as it would add pressure on the players.
I could have made the game first person, but in doing so, the ball rolls meaning the camera would roll with it if I made it a child
object. These are just some improvements that could be added next time on my game.
