Plot:
The Fault in our stars is a story about Hazel Grace and her fight with cancer. She falls in love with a boy
named Augustus Waters
Setting:
Indianapolis and Amsterdam.

Theme:
The Necessity of suffering, terminal cancer, and fear of oblivion. .

Characterization:
Hazel- A young girl fighting cancer. She has the mindset that she needs to tread lightly through the world
and wants to avoid hurting people to the best of her ability. To her dismay, she falls in love with a young
boy and he completely changes her way of seeing the world. Two-dimensional.
Augustus Waters- Augustus is a strong, confident, funny and charming boy. He thinks that in life, it is
important to be heroic and remembered the opposite of Grace.
Style:
Chapter Book, conversational.
Point of View:
First person, told by the eyes of Hazel.
Reflections:
The Fault in Our Stars is a wonderful book that has touched many people around the world. It makes you
think twice about the way you live your life and makes you grateful for the health that you might have.

Plot:
Kyle is a huge fan of all types of games, especially video games. His hero is Luigi Lemoncello, a wellknown game maker constructed the new library in his town. Kyle wins one of twelve spots in a sleepover
full of riddles and games at the famous library. When morning comes, the doors stay locked and Kyle and
the other kids have to solve clues in order to find the way out.
Setting:
Mr. Lemoncellos library
Theme:
Bullying, Teamwork, learning, acceptance.

Characterization:
Kyle- A young boy that loves to play games and win. He is also very generous and it is shown when he
splits up his prize money among his family
Charles- A spoiled rich kid that gets kicked out of the competition.
Style:
Point of View:
Third Person
Reflections: This is a book that will keep reader on their toes. Students will easily get caught up in all the
clues and the race that Kyle and the other kids are experiencing.
