Intro: History is rich in culture and the people who make their name known are the ones

that
will always be remembered. Emma Hart Willard opened the first college-level school for
women in 1821. She contributed to a movement that all women should be thankful for today. The
educational system is an important institution for American society that will be analyzed
accordingly. Forum Nexus is a study abroad summer program held in Europe. Since 1990, over
3,300 students have participated in Forum-Nexus programs in Spain, France, Italy, Greece,
Germany, Switzerland, Turkey, Austria, Holland and the Czech Republic. The courses are open
to both undergraduate and graduate students, as well as to alumni seeking professional
development. The program has been successful for twenty-six years which is why it has been
perceived by others as a great program. Their mission is to provide a first class education for
international students to exchange ideas, knowledge, learn and explore the richness in other
cultures with an open mind.
