The educator that witnesses this behaviour


must be the one to follow through.
Educators to approach Tom with a calm tone
Remove Tom from the space
Move Tom to a quiet space that has been
designed for Tom to calm down, there will be a
choice of drawing, calming bottles or play
dough.
After three minutes, once Tom is visibly calm
Educators will discuss the behaviour with Tom.

Triggers and high-risk times:

Ensure that Tom has enough personal space at


all times.
Staff to be more vigilant by the end of the week

Action to be taken in the case of a injury to another child caused by Tom:

Incident must be communicated to Kerrie immediately.


Both parents of Tom and the hurt child are to be contacted immediately.
The incident is to be documented immediately.
