Authority/
Credibility
Many of the
articles give an
author. Some of
the authors are
college
professors, some
are primary
sources. Citations
are provided in
some articles.

Objectivity/
Bias/Purpose
There is some
bias, especially
in the primary
source
materials. The
more modern
writings are not
biased.

Content/
Coverage
All aspects
of ancient
Greece are
represented
here. All
groups
would be
able to use
this website.
The
information
is very indepth.

Usability

Ranking

Very
easy to
navigate.
The left

topics
covered.

Good. The
informatio

in-depth,
maybe
too much
so for a
9th grader.

This
website is
good. I
would use
it as a
teacher for
reference.

No authors or
citations. No clue
is give as to
where the
information came
from or who
created the
website.

Written almost
like a textbook.
Would benefit
from more
graphics. Very
dry and factual.

There are no
authors and no
citations. It is a
product of
Technological
Solutions, Inc.,
which tells me
nothing.

Seems geared
toward younger
students. It is a
lot of facts, with
not enough
information to
apply.

The amount
of
information
may be
overwhelmin
g, but the
persistent
student will
benefit.
The
information
is very
general. Not
all parts of
ancient
Greece are
represented,
making it
useless to
some groups
(i.e.
architecture)

Very high.
Primary
sources
are very
accurate.

I would not
use this
website in
general, it
is too
elementary
. But it
may be a
good
website to
keep

The author is an
Assistant
Professor of
Classics and
Ancient History.
He is also a
published author.

The author
debunks a few
common
misconceptions
about the
influence of
ancient Greece
on modern
society.

Shows good
connections
between the
ancient
Greeks and
the modern
world.

Very high.
All the
things the
author
talks
about are
things
that are
covered
in the
SOLs.

include
this article,
and
strongly
recommen

students
read this
article to
help
connect
ancient
Greece to
the
present. It
fits in with
the overall
idea, but I
feel
students
might
benefit
from
discussion.

My pathfinder project is going to center on Ancient Greece. This will be a part of a World History and Geography to 1500 class,
covering SOLs WHI.5b,c,e,f.
