App Store Security

After the first successful cyberattack against the iPad and IPhone app store launched
apple has tried to remove malicious applications that millions of apple users have installed.
According to Palo Alto Networks at least 48 popular apps include malware. These hackers would
use XCode on a third-party server and this would allow hidden changes to be processed through
the app store. The Cupertino and Palo Alto Networks are working together to clean the apple
store of infected applications. Know infected applications like WeChat have been cleaned and
upgraded.
I used Google and Bing to search for the same topic using key words Apple combats
cyberattack, App Store scrub.
The two search engines only had a few difference with the search results. The first article
that popped up on both of these search engines were the articles that I looked at on ZDNet.
Google only had 59,800 results while Bing had 273,000 results. The google articles were more
recants and the website that popped up were more well know websites that specialize in tech
news while the Bing results were older and the website were not as recognizable as the google
results. I would say that google had better results because they had fewer results but they were
more accurate results.
T- September 21, 2015. It has not been updated
R-Yes the article is on the topic of the app store security.
R- The source takes information that was said from people interviewed on CNET and took
information from other sources that helped apple fix the problem.
A-The author is Charlie Osborne. She is a medical anthropologist who studied at the University
of Kent and she writes for ZDNet, CNET and SmartPlanet.
A-Yes the information is from people interview is other well know reliable resources and there
are many quotes used to support its claim.
P-This article was written to inform people about the attacks there is no particular side that is
being taken because the author is just restating information from other sources.
I used the ProQuest Science Journal research database to search for apple app store
security. This database what under the science and security journals research tab and that is
what apple security would classify as.
The google research results brought results relating to my topic faster and had more
results. The results were not as good as the ProQuest Science journals results. I had to go through
tons of results on google to find one that could be trusted and accurate and it was harder to limit
the results that I got. The database made it easier to refine my results and could find out more
information including author information and time it when it was written easier. The database
article was mot as recent as the google article but it had more credibility since there were more
than one article and the information was not borrowed from other sources. The google articles
author had interest in the field but it said nothing about her degree in the topic which the
database articles author provided. The database articles author has written tons of articles on the
relating topic and it was easier to find his other articles unlike the google articles author.
