Cash crops- refer to products grown on a large scale specifically for sale or for profit and

Monocrop- A single crop that is grown year after year on the same land.
Conglomerate- Comprises several companies that can be involved in different business
areas but yet considered as one body.
Transnational corporation- A company or group of companies that has operations in
more than one country at the same time. It may also be referred to as a multinational
corporation.

After the underdeveloped countries gain their independence, it is not stated how

they should go about achieving growth and development.


These theories concentrated mainly on economic factors at the expense of others

such as political concerns and cultural factors.

Jamaica as a developing country remains dependent to other states such of the
United State of America for assistance in medical facilities and other financial aid.
With this aid, progress have been seen through the improvement of our
technologies in Jamaica, better roads for public use and building of health care in
just about every community. Unlike the Satellite countries who remain
underdeveloped based on the influences the Metropolises, opportunities are open
for Jamaica to develop itself, but economically we have been developing through
the dependency theory. Markets have been open for us to trade our produces
which interns attract inflows which are then use to satisfy the needs of the mass.
