Concept Based Major Assessments
Tests will be broken down by concepts. For example, one test may cover four concepts, therefore
count as four separate grades.
When retesting, the student does pre-requisite work for only the section of the test they fail, and
will retake a similar assessment over that concept.
Retesting or Redoing:
Students scoring below 70% on an assessment will be afforded an opportunity to redo a similar
assessment after completing prerequisite workat least one tutorial session is REQUIRED
before students are allowed to retest and corrections made to the original test. The higher grade,
with a maximum of 70, shall be recorded.

Retests/redoing should be completed within five school days (unless the teacher makes
alternative provision for extenuating circumstances). Re-tests are to be completed during Late
Nights on either Tuesdays or Thursdays

Late Work:
Assignments will be counted late if received 1 class meeting day after the original submission
date, for a maximum grade of a 70.
Late work must be submitted by the end of the grading period, with the grading period defined as
each 3 week segment in the year.
Late work submitted will receive the grade obtained if completed in a timely manner, yet no
higher than a 70.
Late work submissions must be good-faith efforts at the assignment; trivial attempts at
assignments will not be accepted or graded. The teacher will determine the worthiness of the late
assignment submitted.
Make-Up Work:
If you are absent, it is your responsibility for getting and completing missed work. Check the absent
folder for that days work. In accordance with district policy, you have one day for each consecutive day
of absence to make up missed work and turn it in.

Tardies:
You will not be allowed into the classroom without a pass. You will still be responsible for any work
missed and will need to see me sometime that day to pick-up your assignment(s).

Academic Dishonesty:
Academic dishonesty includes cheating or copying the work of another student, plagiarism, and
unauthorized communication between students during an assignment or examination. If it is determined
that a student has engaged in academic dishonesty, a zero 0 will be given for the assignment, parents
will be notified, and a referral will be given.
