Instant Activity:
Were going to start off with
some relays to get you all
warmed up and ready to go.
You will be in groups of three
and be running from one
polyspot to the opposite
polyspot to where your team
mate is. Everyone get into a
group of three and find a
polyspot. (Once they are at
their polyspots send one
person from each team to the
other side so the relay can
work by each of them only
running one lap)
Transition
I will stop the students from
doing their relay when I think

Lesson Core - Task 1:

Before you do the activity I
am going to teach you how to
kick the ball. How you kick a
soccer ball is by putting your
non-kicking foot next to the
ball, swinging your kicking
foot forward, contacting the
ball with the inside of your
foot, follow through, and kick
hard. Everyone choose a
partner and then go and
stand across from your
partner on a poly spot. I will
give your group a ball once
you are standing on a poly
spot. Everyone go find a
partner.

Start/Stop Signals: To get the V.

students attention I will say
Tiger Pride put your hands on
your head and listen to me.
They should then do this and
stop talking.
Grouping Strategies: The
students can choose their own
partners for both activities.

Demonstrate knowledge
of movement concepts,
principles and strategies
that apply to the learning
and performance of
physical activities.

Kicking a soccer ball is a

very important concept of
soccer and is necessary to
help with the improvement in
performance.
Demonstrate the motor skills
and movement patterns
needed to perform a variety of
physical activities.
The different movements
involved in the kicking of a
soccer ball are motor skills
that the students should have
by now and will be
transferable in different
physical activities.

Psychomotor (P): SWBAT

kick a soccer ball using the
correct COTS to a partner at
least ten feet away from then
consistently

Demonstration Plan:
I will do a demonstration
with the ball while I am
saying the COTS. I will do a

1. Where on the foot do
you kick the ball
with? (The inside of
the foot)
2. Where is your nonkicking foot placed?

students I will move them
further apart.

able to complete this goal.
Cognitive (C): SWBAT
understand the COTS of
kicking a soccer ball and
repeat them to me when
randomly asked.
During the activity I will
randomly ask students to
repeat the COTS for kicking
the soccer ball to make sure
they know them.

Teaching Cues for Task 1:

-Non-kicking foot next to the
ball
-Contact ball below the
middle of the ball
-Contact ball with shoelaces
(i.e., instep of foot)
-Follow through
-Kick hard!

Common Errors Task 1:

1. Students kicking with the
front of their foot.
