Luke 21:12-19

12 Before all this happens, however, they will seize and persecute you, they will hand you over
to the synagogues and to prisons, and they will have you led before kings and governors because
of my name. 13 It will lead to your giving testimony. 14 Remember, you are not to prepare your
defense beforehand, 15

PERSERVERING IN FAITH

Just as there is a reward in following Christ, there is also a price. By giving witness to Jesus, by
proclaiming His Good News, hardship will not only be normal but also necessary. It comes with
every decision we make in our desire to walk on the path of Jesus. People will mock us for doing
what Christ tells us to do. People will hate us for loving Him.

Every day we are tested. The Evil One never runs out of means just to ensnare us, and thus, draw
our attention away from God. He closely watches our every move and every word, waiting for
the best time to attack, most likely when we are least vigilant. In these cases, persevering is
required but also gets more difficult. Regardless of difficulty, we are called to place ourselves in
the Lords hands, to put our full trust and faith in Him.

The best life awaits for those who choose to persevere and trust in Him. The best growth and
empowerment awaits for those who allow the Holy Spirit to move through them. We may have
good intentions and hearts wanting to do goodwill but it will never be effective without the Holy
Spirit touching us and God directing us. May His will be the blueprint of our lives. Trust in Him
always. He is our Divine Mercy.
