Analysis of Radical Islam in The Middle East and Europe
Currently the Syrian Civil War has been raging for multiple years and the
situation has worsened with the refugees spilling into other areas. Additionally, ISISs
views have become a threat to countries across the globe, but the solutions have remained
ineffective due to the fear of involvement. The radical Islam practiced is creating angst in
the countries around ISIS due to the possibility of terrorist groups targeting their
countries as a result of differences in belief. The influx of refugees from the troubled area
of the globe coupled with the actions already taken by the passionate, radical Islamists
has led to the fear of spreading terrorist attacks.
The Syrian crisis is major news across the globe as borders to different countries
have opened and closed. One major topic is Germany because Angela Merkel announced
open borders and quickly closed or blocked them. The number of Syrian refugees has
become overwhelming and the constant patrolling needed at the borders has become a
problem as traffic jams spring up across the country while thousands of immigrants
continue to pour in. One newspaper wrote, With new border controls in place now, racial
profiling will unfortunately become further normalized. Today, German police officers
are able to openly and unabashedly stop anyone who isnt white on the premise that a
brown body must be an undocumented body, which could happen both at Germanys
external bordersas well as inside the country. These actions are signs Germany is

unwanting of unknown refugees and is willing to monitor its citizens and legal refugees
at all times in order to ensure a controlled population. These actions are a prime example
of the angst Europe is feeling, as they are willing to constantly patrol their people if it
means they know the possibility of radical Islam and the people who could spread it. Vox
described this phenomenon as taking place all over Europe, and as the reason countries
are opposed to accepting the refugees. The article said, Taking in large numbers of
refugees requires accepting that those refugees might bring changes to your nation's
identity or culture. And while that change is often economically and culturally enriching,
it can still feel scary. It requires people to modify, ever so slightly, their vision of what
their town and neighborhood look like. This quote perfectly summarizes the way people
are not keen on accepting or helping the situation in the Middle East because it involves
changing the way the will live their lives.
The examples continue as ISIS grows and alters the face of the Middle East with
consistency. The barbaric group has spread fear into the hearts of people in the Middle
East and the globe as they use harsh tactics to achieve their goal. With their views of
Islam, few people are safe except the ones who conform. One news source named:
Odyssey described the situation, ...ISIS is a serious threat to the Middle East and the
Western World. They have been charged with crimes against humanity, which include:
massacre, beheading, sexual enslavement, use of child soldiers, and forced pregnancy.
They are also known for nailing those who dont conform to crosses, and leaving them up
as a warning. This excerpt gives multiple examples of the terrible actions they commit.
With their view of radical Islam known, many are afraid to allow Muslim refugees into
their world because of the stigma held against the people in the religion. With ISIS and a

constant flow of refugees into European countries, people are also worried about the
chances of radical Islamists journeying into their region. This fear can be understood as
the rapid changes in the Middle East are beginning to affect more than the countries they
occur in. Peoples lives are being changed constantly. However, the fight against these
radical Muslims has remained unclear. Obama once disclosed, But this is not our fight
alone. American power can make a decisive difference, but we cannot do for Iraqis what
they must do for themselves, nor can we take the place of Arab partners in securing their
region. This explains how the region is continually changing and how the fight has
remained elusive since people are unwilling to partake in a war that could easily spread to
their areas.
Overall, the Middle East and Europe are witnessing the effects of radical Islam on
their country's people, economy, and worldview. Radical Islam has affected millions in
their attempt to achieve their goals with barbaric action. These actions have led purehearted people to the displacement of millions and the disappointment of failing to find
homes. Radical Islams influence is more and more negative by the minute as culture and
peace are wiped from that section of the Earth.
