Communication
and
Research
Methods!
We
will
be
together
for
the
next
three
weeks,
working
on
approaches
to
research,
professional
communication,
and
building
your
English
language
abilities.
Each
week
will
focus
on
a
different
topic:
1)
Professional
Communication
2)
Debate
and
Oral
Argument
3)
Research
Methods
and
Presentation.
This
will
be
a
short
course,
which
will
require
us
to
work
intensively
and
efficiently.

Course
Goals
Develop
English
abilities
in
writing,
reading,
and
conversation.
Gain
skills
and
resources
for
your
research
and
law
studies.
Communicate
ideas
in
English
to
audiences,
colleagues,
and
clients.
Evaluate
information
based
on
objective
facts,
verifiability,
and
sources.
Craft
arguments
and
defend
ideas
to
others
in
English.
Course
Materials
Copies
of
reading
materials
and
course
documents
will
be
provided
in
class,
as
well
as
online
at
our
class
website:

Students
will
also
sign
up
for
free
use
of
academic
databases
for
personal
use
and
research
through
the
Dar
America
library
in
Casablanca.
Attendance
Expectations
Attending
class
and
participating
in
discussion
is
key
for
you
to
improve
at
any
language,
including
English.
Attendance
will
be
taken
at
the
start
of
class
and
will
be
reflected
in
your
final
grade.
Coming
late
to
class
by
15
minutes
or
more
will
be
recorded,
and
regular
absences
will
lower
your
grade.
Plagiarism
Plagiarism
is
when
you
claim
the
work
of
others
as
your
own.
This
includes
writing
done
by
your
friends,
material
you
take
from
the
Internet
or
books,
and
any
unoriginal
work
that
you
have
not
written
yourself.
Plagiarism
is
forbidden
in
this
class.
If
you
submit
homework
that
is
partially
or
fully
plagiarized,
you
will
fail
the
assignment
and
risk
failing
this
course.
