The 2105 Amazing Plant Race

1. Saskatchewan, Canada:
In this location of the race, Marly Moss was eliminated. She was eliminated because
there was not enough water for her to live in. Because she has no roots, she could not get enough
water. If Marly Moss wants to thrive in Saskatchewan, Canada, she will have to be able to absorb
the water from the land, and be able to reproduce with less water.
2. Northern Scotland:
Unfortunately, Carla CornStalk was eliminated in this race. She was eliminated because
she almost drowned in the amount of water present. She is able to take in a lot of water and
ended up taking in too much water. For Carla CornStalk to thrive in a northern Scotland peat
bog, she would have to be able to take in and thrive in plenty on water, by losing some of her
ability to take in water.
3. Xinjiang Semi Desert, China:
It's sad to say that Fern was eliminated here. She was eliminated because there was not
enough water for her to live in. She did not have roots to absorb enough water. If Fern would like
to move to a semi desert, she would need to learn to live and reproduce without water, by getting
roots.
4. African Savannah:
Two contestants were eliminated in the desert, Hal Hornwort and Homer Horsetail. They
were eliminated for the same reason, they were not able to live with no water. Neither of them
have roots, and could not get enough water. If they ever want to visit a desert again, they will
have to be able to live and reproduce with no water, by getting roots.
5. Amazon Rainforest, Brazil:
Say goodbye to Paula Pine-Tree, in the rainforest, she was unable to get enough sunlight,
and was given too much water. She also took in too much water. If Paula Pine-Tree would like to
live in a rainforest, she would have to grow tall enough to get above the high tree canopy, or she
would have to be able to use less sunlight and more water, by losing some ability to take in
water.
6. Honolulu, Hawaii:
The winner of the 2015 Amazing Plant Race is Lily Pad! She almost got eliminated a
few times in the deserts, but was able to pull through and claim first place. The people of Hawaii
chose Lily Pad as the winner because of her ability to survive in different places, and her
absolute beauty. Garth Ginkgo was a close second, but because of his terrible smell, the people
of Honolulu, Hawaii crowned Lily Pad the ultimate winner.

Post-Race Analysis

won because at each place, different plants would be competing.
