Characterization Paper: Write a well written paper on the character of Ben Wolf,
using both direct and in-direct characterization

Activities

Activities:
Warm up activity: Placing direct and in-direct paragraphs into columns with the
explanations on the Smart Board.
Have them compare notes and let them explain why they thought each one
belonged where they placed it.
Go over example of activity, Coach Banks, and what they will be doing.
Students will create their own version/chart of direct and indirect characterization
chart of Ben Wolf that will lead up to the next activity of creating an outline for a
characterization paper.

Warm Up: Place the following example under the correct heading:
Indirect Characterization: The narrator reveal something about a character by SHOWING the reader
something the character DOES. (Action of the character)
Direct Characterization: The narrator TELLS the reader something about a character.
A lot of guys use their senior year to coast; catch up on partying and reward themselves for making it this far. Not
