OGUNDA IROSUN

1. Ifa foresees ire of childbearing and honor for you in this stanza. Ifa
says that your activities in the community, group or association you
belongs to will make people to honor you with titles and or awards.
Moreover, Ifa says that you shall also be blessed with a child. The child
shall be a blessing to you. However, you are advised to offer ebo, and to
propitiate Oya with a matured she-goat. On this, Ifa says;
Soko soko sonbe
Dia fun Oyadosin
Ti nlo re joye Onipo
Ebo ni won ni ko waa se
O gbebo, o rubo
A ti mu Oyadosin jOnipo
Soko soko sonbe
Translation:
Soko soko sonbe (alias of an Awo)
He cast Ifa for Oyadosin
When going to be installed as Onipo (King of Ipo land)
He was advised to offer ebo
He complied
We have installed Oyadosin as the King
Soko soko sonbe

2. Ifa foresees ire aje (financial success) and victory over negative
principalities for you in this stanza. Ifa says that there is an attempt to

dispossess you of your possession. However, you need to offer ebo to

thwart the efforts of your antagonists.
On the other hand, Ifa says that you should be contented with what
Olodumare has blessed you with and never contemplate disposessing
others of their belongings. The consequence is usually umpleasant.
Secondly, Ifa says that something ominious is happening and which you
or any other person around you are ignorant of. What this means in
essence is that, there are some negative forces responsible for the
strange happenings. Ifa assures you of victory over these negative forces
once the ebo is offered. The ebo materials include; musical drums, 3
roosters, trumpet and money. On all these, Ifa says

Ma saka nsaka
Ma ferekun, ma ferekun
Ma konkolo
Dia fun Esu-Okogba
Ti nsunkun oun o laje lowo
Ma se werewere ma kije
Dia fun Iromi

Iku, arun, ejo, ofo o le mu wa lale odo

Translation:
I shall play the musical drum
And beat the metal gongs
I shall blow the string box
These were Ifas messages for Esu-Okogba
When weeping that he lacked prosperity
I will play music and dance for seven days
This was Ifas message for Iromi (the leave that dropped into a stream)
The offspring of the river goddess
When weeping that she had no fixed place of abode
She was advised to offer ebo
I will dance for seven days
Death, affliction, contentionand loss have no effect on us under the riverbed
I will dance for seven days

3.Ifa says that Ogunda-Irosun children excel better in consultancy jobs

and other jobs that involves sitting in an office while people come to
transact business. According to this Odu, you are not supposed to be in a
business whereby you will be moving from one place to the other in order
to make ends meet. All you need to do is to establish a business within
your vicinity or any where close to your abode where people will approach
you for one business transaction or the other.
However, you are advised to offer ebo with 3 hens, 3 guinea fowls and
money. Also, you need to feed Ifa with a matured she-goat. On this, Ifa
says;
Ogunda roro ko lowo
Irosun roro ko la
Dia fun Orunmila
Yoo kese meji
Yoo se si merin
Ebo ni won ni ko waa se
O gbebo, o rubo
Nje kini n o ro la?
Oko odede
Ni n o ro la
Oko odede
Translation:
Ogunda strives but could not succeed financially
Irosun also strives but was not prosperous
These were Ifas messages for Orunmila
When he changed from walking with two legs
To sitting in a permanent place
He was advised to offer ebo
He complied
What is it that I will do to prosper
The job within my vicinity
Is what I will do to prosper

4. Ifa foresees ire from abroad for you. Ifa says also that trading business
is also good for you whereby goods will be imported from abroad and
then sold by you. Ifa says that there is a high degree of success chances
in this endeavour. In this wise, you are advised to offer ebo with pigeons,
ducks, guinea fowls and money. You also need to feed Aje with pigeon
and unsalted bean fritteers for financial success. On this, Ifa says;
Ogun lewe ina
Oji niti iroko
Aadota ni ti mimiro
Dia fun Olomo
Ti yoo sowosowo
Dia fun Olomo
Ti yoo jeere-jeere
Ti yoo fori ara re kere dele
Ebo ni won ni ko se
O gbebo, o rubo
Ere ma loja
Ifa je ki n kere dele e wa o
Translation:
The leaves of Ina are in twenties
Those of Iroko are in forties
The leaves of Mimiro are in fifties
This was the Ifa cast for Olomo
The one that transact trading business
And would reap huge profit
The same Ifa was also cast for olomo
When he would bring home profit from abroad
He was advised to offer ebo
He complied
Making profit is good business
Ifa, let me bring into our home huge profit

5. Ifa says that you should be cautious of the woman you are going to
take as your wife. You need to be sure that she loves you as much as you
love her, else she might take certain steps/actions that may cost you,
your life. This is even worse if this woman is dark-skinned. This is very
important as far as Ogunda-Irosun is concerned. However, if you are
already married, and you observed that your wife does not love you as
much as you do to her, you only need to be careful in dealing with her
and then need to offer ebo with a matured he-goat, calabash,
ceramic plate and money. On this Ifa says;
Bi o ri eera
Bi o ri poroporo
O o se bi gumogumo ni won fe araa won denu
Eera o fe poroporo denu
Dia fun Eera
Tii sobinrin Opoto
Awa o mo igba ti Eera yi wonu Opoto o
Translation:
When you see Eera (ant)
When you see Poroporo (millet)
You will think they are deeply in love with one another
Eera does not really love Poroporo
This was the pronouncement of Ifa to Eera
The wife of Opoto
Behold! We did not know when Eera got into the belly of Opoto which led
to his death

6. Ifa says that your efforts at accomplishing certain things in life are
being circumvented by four negative principalities no matter how much
effort you put in. Ifa advises you to offer ebo for accomplishment with 4
snails, 4 roosters and money. Certain Ifa preparations must be made
by Awo to be buried in the four corners of your room. On this Ifa says;
Alugbore, aluye
Dia fun Orunmila
Ifa n loo kunle soro jeun tuntun lodun
Ebo ni won ni ko waa se
O gbebo, o rubo
Iku gbagbin n raye soro temi o
Alugbore, aluye
Arun, ejo, ofo gbagbin nraye soro temi o
Alugbore, aluye
Translation:
Alugbore, aluye
He cast Ifa for Orunmila
When he was about to perform his annual propitiation
He was advised to offer ebo
Death, take the snail and let me perform my propitiation
Alugbore, aluye
Ailment, contention and loss, take the snail and let me perform my
propitiation
Alugbore, aluye, my great Awo

7. Ifa says that all what you have lost in the past either material or
financial will be regained. Ifa says that if someone or some people had
deserted you in the past, they will come back to you. Ifa however advises
you to offer ebo of victory in this regard. On this, Ifa says;
Ogunda Irosun gbaragada
Dia fun ile
Tii soko Laalaa
Ebo ni won ni ko se
O gbebo, o rubo
Laalaa to roke
Ile lo nbo
Translation:
Ogunda Irosun gbaragada (name of an Awo)
Cast Ifa for Ile (ground)
Who was the husband of Laalaa
He was advised to offer ebo
He complied
Laalaa that goes up
Must surely come back to the groung

8. Ifa advises you not to be avaricious or make any attempt to covet

another mans belonging. Ifa says that all your aspirations shall

materialise but you need to avoid a situation whereby you have

succeeded in achieving great things while at the same time pursuing
things of less importance. Ifa cautions you against the above in order not
to lose out completely.
Ifa says that the attempt to pursue lesser things while one had succeeded
in great things will turn sour and then cause the total loss of everything
including the great things already achieved. In this wise, you are advised
to offer ebo. One is for you to succeed in your endeavour, the other is for
you to be able to resist the temptation of avarice.
The ebo for success includes two pigeons and money. While the ebo
for avatice is he-goat and money. On all these, Ifa says;

Okanjuwa kii mu eje eeyan meji
Dia fun won niluu Iperin
Eyi ti yoo gbee erin lori
Ti too maa fese de isa Ire
Ebo ni won ni ko waa se
Translation:
Whoever says this is not plenty
Whoever says this is not enough
Coveting everything to themselves is the only thing that makes them
happy
An avarice cannot suck the blood of two persons together
These were Ifas declarations to the inhabitants of Iperin
Those who carry elephant on their heads
And who were using their toes to browse the hole of Ire (grasshopper)
They were advised to offer ebo
