Coordinate the FMLA leave, STD administration, and LTD process with the
outsourcing partner.
Maintain own case load and acts as single point of contact for assigned
Organizations HR, employees and managers on STD, LTD and FMLA claims,
questions, and process. Receives and administers requests for other types
of disability related leave.
Provides accurate information to employees and management regarding
benefit programs, as they relate to STD, LTD, FML, and workers
compensation. Communicates with HR, employees and managers regarding
leave designation and status and answers questions from employees and
managers regarding FMLA and other leaves of absence. Coordinates the
return-to-work process for FMLA and other disability related leaves of
absence.
Maintain up-to-date working knowledge of FMLA, workers compensation,
state leave laws, ADA, and organization policy and procedures. Understand
the integrations and impact of STD plans and policy and how they interface
with the applicable leave laws.
Serve as a continuous improvement champion. Conduct analysis to identify
process and claims trends and programs to enhance performance in areas of
opportunity.
Manage timekeeping activities, including entering, editing, and approving
time in the Kronos system for employees on continuous FMLA/non FMLA
leave.
Process and maintain transactions and data elements in the PeopleSoft HRIS
for employees on continuous FMLA/non FMLA leave. Utilize reports to
analyze, and act upon absence-related data. Identify trends and opportunities
for improvement.
Coordinate with Payroll and other internal functions and external payers to
coordinate the accurate payment of paid time off benefits and disability leave
benefits.
Monitor case-loads to ensure even case distribution and redistribution as
needed. Supervises staff including training, mentoring, approving time, and
performance management.
Act as a subject matter expert for staff on difficult or complex cases. Liaisons
with Legal for policy/legal updates. Provides customer service for calls/emails
escalated to management.
Responsible for filing worker's compensation claims with the insurance company
for injured employees.
Schedule initial injury visits, follow ups, referrals, and laboratory and imaging
diagnostic testing.
Processed laboratory billing and special purchase requisitions against the
department cost center.
Serve as the department liaison to the Hospital Environment of Care committee.
Serve as the department liaison to the Hartford Hospital Safety Committee.
Run and actively track data reports for the Hospital on a variety of subjects
including influenza vaccination statistics and employee injury statistics.
