Annabel Lee by Edgar Allen Poe starts off with him talking about someone

of great importance to him. The adoration and love is apparent in the tone, and we
soon learn her name is Annabel Lee. He says they had such a love, that no one had
ever loved like they hadquite a common thought among teenagers. It is a very
romantic poem dedicated to his other half and the main purpose in his life. The
narrator even goes on to say that she was made to love him and he was made to
love herthat was their sole functions. It is very childlike in that he believes so
fiercely in his love and the emotions behind them, refusing to admit that him and
Annabel could ever not be.
In the second stanza, the words grow cold and create unhappy pictures.
