Frdric Boniol, Professor from the University of Toulouse, is a Senior Researcher at
ONERA (the French Aerospace Research Institute) where he leads a research team on
embedded systems. He received an engineering degree and a master of science in
computer science in 1987 from Supaero (Toulouse, France). He then worked as junior
researcher at ONERA where, in 1997, he earned a PhD degree on Synchronous
Programming for Critical Embedded Software. He received a H.D.R. Degree from the
University of Toulouse in 2005. His main areas of research are formal methods on
embedded software design and verification, synchronous programming for embedded
control systems, and real-time architecture modelling and performance evaluation. He is
a specialist of IMA (Integrated Modular Avionics) architecture. He develops these
research activities within several research projects with both academic partners and
industrial partners (Airbus, Thales, Dassault-Aviation, Continental etc.)
