Research Question: How does yoga benefit a person?
Working Thesis: Yoga positively benefits a person.
Refined Thesis: Yoga positively benefits a person mentally, physically, and cognitively.

In this article, Bemiss states facts about yoga and also goes on to talk about how it can
benefit anyone. She talks about how the practice of yoga can help with many physical and
mental concerns. The article also states the different parts of a persons body that doing yoga can
keep healthy, and in good shape. It even talks about how yoga can help with ones sleep, by
helping them sleep more peacefully. It states that yoga can even help with ones all around mood
throughout ones day and it will help one to have a more peaceful attitude. This article is helpful

because it has good information, and also includes statements from her students which makes
most of the information reliable and accurate.

In this article, it talks about how yoga can not only help a person relieve stress, but how it
can also help one slim down. It even states that yoga has dozens of benefits other than those two.
The article says that yoga can help one make better choices, retain the brain, and even talks about
how eating healthier and better and do yoga that it is good for ones health and physical
appearance. It talks about how yoga can make one more flexible and strengthen them. This
article is beneficial because it is one that mainly talks about the physical benefits of yoga.

This article starts off stating information about yoga, and what it is. It then goes in to talk
about the physical benefits of doing yoga, and has many examples with information on each
example and topic. It talks about how it can soothe an aching back, relieve wrist pain, help one
breathe easier, fight off fatigue, and also reduce stress on the heart. The author of the article,
Guthrie, even gave an example from her daily life and talked a little about her experience with
yoga. This article is crucial to this research because it has a real life example on how yoga
benefitted a person, yet also covers the physical and mental benefits of it as well.

This is a scientific study done by two researchers at a school for psychology. The study is
seeing if yoga helps with mental health and cognition. It also has a ton of information about yoga
and how it benefits a person. It talks about how yoga helps one become more intact with the
mind, body, and spirit. This article is not only helpful because it is lengthy and loaded with a ton
of information, but because it shows an actual study done by people to see if yoga helps with
mental health and cognition. This article is definitely crucial to the research.

This article focuses on the benefits of yoga, and even gives an example of someone who
had hypothyroid, who did yoga and it helped with her condition a ton. It talks about the mind
benefits and the health and physical benefits. It even talks about how yoga can make one more
lean and slim and help lose weight. It then states information on different type of yoga poses,
such as how a person can do them. This article is helpful because again, it has a real life example
of someone who did yoga to help with a condition, and it worked which shows that it can benefit
a person.

of it from stretching to meditation, to breathing. It talks about how it can make one a healthier
and happier person in life. It even gives examples and tips on doing yoga. This article is
beneficial to this research because the way it is set up is easy to obtain the information, and there
is an abundance of information in the article.
