The last week of clinical I was able to shadow the charge nurse. What I liked about the experience was that I
got a complete overview of the unit for that day. It was interesting to learn about the unit census and hear how
the nurses were assigned to the patients.
During this clinical rotation I was able to practice my assessment skills and get more confident with all
aspects of patient care. I was able to gain a clearer perspective on holistic care of the patient including
palliative and hospice care.

Jessica has shown great improvement over the past six weeks. She has shown that when given a new goal she
takes the initiative to seek out the experiences to meet these goals. Her many shadowing experiences allowed
Jessica to see the many challenges of nursing in many different areas. Despite her lack of interest in some of
the areas Jessica always had something new to share.
Jessica is able to develop a solid rapport with her peers and nursing staff as well as the multidisciplinary teams
she came in contact with. Patient care is always complete and assessment skills are thorough and accurate.
Critical thinking skills are developing and improving weekly.
