Three years at al batinah international school in sohar, Oman. School grew from an idea with no name, to a villa with twenty-six students. We learned the value of flexibility - adjusting to new teaching roles and new job titles.

When it was time to leave Dubai, we were excited when
International School Services offered us a chance to work starting a school from the ground up. Little did we know how interesting the work of the next three years would be! The term life-long learning took on real meaning for us during the three years at A.B.I.S.as the school grew from an idea with no name, to a villa with twenty-six students, to a campus with over one hundred students. Here we learned the value of flexibility - adjusting to new teaching roles and new job titles. It was a steep, but satisfying learning curve as we tried to jump in and not wait to be asked to complete the work that needed to be done whether it was educational, organizational or even mechanical! Luckily, we had a group of people surrounding us who were also ready and willing to take on these unique challenges. This school community became family, and we enjoyed the variation of the tasks of each day and the students that we taught.
