Instructional Strengths Relevant to NETS-T Standards
NETS-T Standard 1: Teachers use their knowledge of
subject matter, teaching and learning, and technology to facilitate experiences that advance student learning, creativity, and innovation in both face to face and virtual environments. This is evidenced in my use of specific websites and iPad applications that allow my students to provide evidence that they are learning the concepts that Im teaching. I integrate technology using my smart board, iPads, as well as using Educational Apps such Padlet, Edmodo, and Educreations. These apps allow students to use creativity while providing feedback to each other. Students are able to collaborate and share ideas. NETS-T Standard 2: Teachers design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessments incorporating contemporary tools and resources to maximize content learning in context and to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes identified in the Standards-S. This is evidenced in my use of Google Classroom for my third grade class. I have set up all content areas in Google Classroom and use it as a major instructional and assessment tool. My students take their assessments using their iPads through Google Classroom. This tool is a wonderful aid because it grades assessments for you. I regularly use Edmodo as a communication tool for parents and students to communicate with me. We have assignments and resources posted on Edmodo. Parents are able to access the assignments without the students bringing home any materials. NETS-T Standard 3: Teachers exhibit knowledge, skills, and work processes representative of an innovative professional in a global and digital society. This is evidenced in my use of Google Classroom as well as my classroom webpage, Edmodo, and Remind 101. I have become proficient in Google Classroom and an ambassador at my school for this program. As lead third grade teacher, I have shared documents with other teachers using Google Docs and Google Classroom. Remind 101 is being used in my classroom as a text messaging system that allows parents to receive texts of reminders or important announcements. As mentioned before I use Edmodo as a message board as well as an interface to post classroom assignments and homework assignments.
Career and Professional Development Plan
NETS-T Standard 4: Teachers understand local and global societal issues and responsibilities in an evolving digital culture and exhibit legal and ethical behavior in their professional practices. This is evidences through a number of practices that I utilize in my classroom. During the first few weeks of school before students are allowed to use the computers or iPads, I teach a digital citizenship lesson. Our Media Specialist also teaches a lesson to our students but I focus on research and plagiarism. I conduct a lesson where students are allowed to research a given animal. However, I show them the creditable websites to use when researching and how to determine the validity of the source. My students learn that citing work is of most importance when gathering information or conducting research projects. Not only, do I teach this digital citizenship lesson but I also show them examples of sources that are not accredited sources. In addition, we also talk about photo waivers and having permission using photos or taking photos of students and using them on the internet.
Instructional Weakness Relevant to NETS-T Standards
NETS-T Standard 5: Teachers continuously improve their
professional practice, model lifelong learning, and exhibit leadership in their school and professional community by promoting and demonstrating the effective use of digital tools and resources. This is evidenced through my participation in my enrollment in a Masters of Education program with an Instructional Technology track. I decided to enter this educational route because I knew how imperative technology was in the classroom. I felt that to be a teacher without promoting digital tools in the classroom would be an injustice to my students. I promote the effective use of digital tools and resources in the classroom by modeling to my students how to use these tools daily. NETS-T Standard 5: Teachers continuously improve their professional practice, model lifelong learning, and exhibit leadership in their school and professional community by promoting and demonstrating the effective use of digital tools and resources. I feel I could improve in regards to contributing to the effectiveness, modeling lifelong learning, and exhibit leadership in my school using digital tools and resources. . I feel that being a teacher in my district is very limited on the creativity of our

lessons. Most programs for ELA and Math are scripted programs. At times, this can make it hard to promote the use of digital tools and resources. Time would be another factor that leads to the lack of promoting digital tools and resources in the classroom.
Specific Strategies for Improving areas of Weakness
NETS-T Standard 3: Teachers exhibit knowledge, skills,
and work processes representative of an innovative professional in a global and digital society. In regards to the use of current and emerging digital tools to locate, analyze, evaluate, and use information resources to support research and learning; this is an area where I need reinforcement. I use assessments and digital data collecting tools that have been approved by my school or district. I have not personally taken the responsibility to search and demonstrate my own tools in the classroom. Partially, due to the strict restrictions within our district of approved digital tools. However, it is my goal to research the most innovative and upcoming tools to use in the classroom that are being used not only in our state but also in relevance to our country and others to show that our students can compete in a digital age society. NETS-T Standard 5: Teachers continuously improve their professional practice, model lifelong learning, and exhibit leadership in their school and professional community by promoting and demonstrating the effective use of digital tools and resources. In an attempt to address my issues with this standard I will continue to attend Professional Development trainings related to technology. I feel that collaborating with other schools with similar demographics and learning how those teachers are addressing this standard would be beneficial for me. I currently registered to receive a technology journal monthly to learn about the most novel digital tools being used. As a result, I hope to integrate the tools that I have learned through becoming more educated. Lastly, I would love to become a member of an accredited technology group such as ISTE. Becoming a member would allow me to collaborate and share ideas with others who are in my field of work.

information resources to support research and learning; It is my plan to create a better process on gathering data on students for Social Studies Benchmark tests. I would like to build upon the data I have received from the assessment and see how I could use this tool to better implement my instructional strategies. Professional Reflection
My short term career goal is to integrate technology as much as
possible in my current position as a third grade teacher. I plan on leading my third grade students in the technology fair within our school district. I want to integrate technology as proficiently as possible in my classroom so that all students are able to use technology. Differentiation instruction with technology is a current goal that I am striving to meet daily. Lastly, my short term career goal is to help educate other teachers at my school on some of the technology integration that is possible within their classrooms. We are fortunate to have Ipads in our classroom and I feel that some teachers are not taking advantage of using them in their most valuable way. My long term goal would be to obtain a position with the district office as a technology integrationist. This would be my dream job because I would be able to teach other teachers how to engage and integrate technology in the classroom. I could use my years of experience in the classroom to help teachers integrate technology from an instructional viewpoint. Also, I could use my experience to show teachers what current and past digital tools were engaging in worked best in the classroom. I recognize that all teachers do not have equal technology skills and I would be an ambassador for both skilled and unskilled teachers with technology.
