GC Calibration

out
Standard Gas
Cylinder( around 40 exp)

Real Gas
Percentage(2%):

CO2: 74.48%; O2: 17.65%;

N2: 7.88%

Experiment results:
CO2: 80; O2: 14; N2: 6

Questions and
suggestion:

According to approximation:
O2, N2 are acceptable But
CO2 is not!
Accept this Calibration (which
work for us)
Buying new standard cylinder
Changing method which is not

GC Calibration

carried out

Entrance Mix gas( around

40 exp.)

Questions and
suggestion:

The exact gases

amount in mixture are
obtained, BUT:

The time of sweeping is

changed variously from 3min
to 40min (Based on the
mixture and the flowrate)
Vacuum pump could solve the
major part of this problem.
Detectors solid substance need to be sweeping.
So the time consumption is inescapable.

Cryogenic Carbon Capture

2 Experiment Have been
carried out

The experiment
took about 1hour.
This time consume
for:

Chiller cooling
Compressor
pressurizing

Pros:

No leakage have
been recorded in the
system.
No water have been
observed after the
third condenser.
Process controller
system correctly
worked
Steam generator
worked well in the

Cons and
bottlenecks:

Liquid CO2 have been

obtained BUT the
separation faced a
problem.
The compressor oil
vomiting have been
happened in both
case.

Cons and bottlenecks:

Presence of CO2 is
completely visible
in the purge line:
(The intense
temperature drop
is an evidence as
well as GC
recordings)

Cons and bottlenecks (Bottleneck):

The milestone picture

Cons and bottlenecks (Bottleneck):

The Milestone Picture:

The left gauge presented the outlet flow pressure, this is
not demanded!!
The outlet pressure must be equal to the liquefaction
conditions(P>80bar)
After a while from the beginning of the experiment this
pressure is applied to the first drum and that is the reason
of compressor oil vomiting!
What is the difference between CO2 cylinder and ours?

Starting to learn Aspen

Hysys for modelling the
system required.
